List and provide links of 2 blogs and/or websites that you read on a regular basis (or your 2 favorite blogs) and indicate the strengths and weaknesses of each. If you have your own blog or website, share some insights into the platform you use and share some of your experiences and best practices suggestions.
I don't read any blogs or websites regularly. In order to fulfill this assignment I'm going to use Kristina Kuzmic's Facebook page as one. What I know Kristina for are her videos that I see on Facebook. She posts videos that are generally encouraging to moms and addresses issues in a positive manner that are common to moms.

Weaknesses:
-Use of Facebook live has led to strung out, un-targeted posts with too many pauses and lack of focus
-Has posted advertising videos mixed in with her regular videos
Strengths:
-Large target audience (moms)
-Encouragement focus keeps people uplifted, more likely to come back for more
-Not afraid to be transparent or vulnerable
-Connection across social media platforms is strong
-Focuses on her niche
The second one is going to be The Cornered Cat. This is a blog that was so successful the author wrote a book by the same title. It's actually the book I became familiar with first several years ago and then perused the blog a bit. The author, Kathy Jackson, focuses on self defense and women, specifically about using guns in self defense.

Weaknesses:
-Doesn't have an obvious presence on social media beyond her blog
-Doesn't include images
-Website is bland looking
Strengths:
-Well focused on her niche
-Offers helpful and actionable content
-Writes in short paragraphs, easy to read
-Shares lots of resources
-Lots of content available and it's well organized
I do not have a blog but I have a close friend who tried to be a video game focused vlogger on Twitch. What he learned was that you need to be willing to make at least some investment up front to have decent equipment and programs, typically what's available for free isn't going to be best. In blogging this means getting rid of ads, they are annoying can overwhelm readers quickly. He also learned that he needed to pay attention to what he looked and sounded like, voice and image impressions is extremely important. This translates to the non-video medium in regards to having an eye-catching sight, you have to capture attention and keep it, make sure things are visually engaging enough to keep the reader's focus.
